Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Local Purchasing Specialist with an engineering background to manage and optimize our local procurement activities. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical knowledge to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, components, and services from local suppliers, while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with local suppliers to secure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to understand technical requirements and ensure supplier capabilities align with specifications.
- Issue purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure continuous improvement and reliability.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about local sourcing trends, pricing, and availability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation in ERP systems.
- Support cost reduction initiatives and contribute to supply chain optimization projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
- 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of technical specifications and ability to read engineering drawings.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Knowledge of local supplier markets and logistics is a plus.
- Fluent in English.
